ACE, the system CBP uses to process entries, holds this data. The importer of record can run the ES-003 Entry Summary Line Tariff Details report in the ACE Portal to see the duty on every entry line. Without ACE access, your customs broker can pull the same data. A broker’s report usually covers only the entries it filed, though, so if you’ve used more than one broker, either run the report from your own ACE account or gather data from each.
No. Leave out any duty that has come back to you through a Post Summary Correction, a protest, a product exclusion, or an earlier drawback claim. The same goes for duty you’re recovering another way right now. Drawback is based on the duties actually paid on the imports, and the same dollar can’t be refunded twice.
Use the duty the importer paid on the goods you bought. Drawback can follow merchandise down the supply chain, so an exporter may be able to claim on duties an upstream importer paid. The transfer can be shown with normal business records, but the claim still needs the importer’s entry data, which means the importer has to cooperate.
