What is a Duty Drawback? In short, Duty Drawback is a refund of duties and fees previously paid to U.S. Customs. Duties are paid when goods are imported and subsequently exported, an drawback of those duties can be claimed through a customized program from CBC" something to that effect. Anyone who has had official possession of the goods may be eligible to claim drawback.
Although the exporter is the person who is primarily eligible to claim drawback, others may also make the claim. The importer may submit the drawback claim if the importer has an endorsement from the exporter assigning the right to claim drawback.
An intermediate consignee with a certificate of delivery (or a certificate of manufacture and delivery) may submit the drawback claim if the intermediate consignee has an endorsement from the exporter assigning the right to claim drawback
